Google is expanding the role of Ads Advisor, its artificial intelligence assistant inside Google Ads, to automate compliance checks, flag security risks and reduce the manual workload involved in running advertising campaigns.

The tool will introduce real-time policy reviews that give advertisers instant guidance as they create or edit campaigns, rather than requiring them to wait for a post-submission review.

For more complex violations, Ads Advisor will act as an end-to-end troubleshooter, scanning accounts and websites, outlining the steps needed to fix problems and confirming a resolution before an appeal is submitted.

Google is also positioning the tool as a round-the-clock security monitor for advertising accounts.

Ads Advisor will deliver personalised recommendations, including alerts on flagged domains and dormant users that may pose a risk.

A new security insights dashboard will show advertisers how acting on those suggestions improves their overall account protection.

Alongside the expanded AI features, Google is adding passkey support to Google Ads, allowing users to log in without passwords or two-factor codes.

The company said advertisers can prompt Ads Advisor directly by typing "show me my security level" to get a snapshot of their account's standing.

Certification is another area where Google wants to strip out friction.

Ads Advisor will proactively determine whether a business requires a specific advertising certificate and, where possible, grant it automatically.

In cases where an application is needed, the tool will help submit one with a single click, drawing on Google's Gemini AI capabilities to speed up the approvals process.

Google said the new features will launch inside Ads Advisor in the coming months.

The tool is currently available to all English-language accounts globally, with support for additional languages rolling out soon.

The expansion reflects a broader push by Google, the world's largest digital advertising company, to embed generative AI across its ads infrastructure, cutting the operational burden on marketers while keeping campaigns compliant with its policies.

The recap

  • Ads Advisor will proactively flag and resolve complex policy violations.
  • Adds 24/7 monitoring plus a security dashboard and passkeys.
  • Instant certifications use Gemini capabilities; rollouts arrive in coming months.
