Tesla sales in Spain fall 47.3% in April

Tesla's new car sales in Spain fell 47.3% year-on-year in April to 301 vehicles, according to registration data from industry group ANFAC.

The decline for Tesla contrasts with broader market moves: in the first four months Tesla's sales in Spain rose 29.1% versus the same period the prior year, while total sales of electrified vehicles grew 54% during that span.

ANFAC classifies "electrified vehicles" as a category that includes both fully-electric vehicles and hybrids, the data shows. A Reuters file photo accompanying the figures depicts a Tesla electric vehicle charging at a Tesla Supercharger station in Barakaldo, Spain.

The figures were reported by Reuters, with reporting credited to Mireia Merino and editing by David Latona. The sales data cited here is sourced to ANFAC's registration numbers.

The recap

  • Tesla new car sales in Spain fell 47.3% in April
  • Tesla sold 301 new vehicles in Spain in April
  • In first four months Tesla sales rose 29.1%
