NVIDIA is teaming with Ineffable Intelligence in an engineering-level collaboration to develop infrastructure for reinforcement learning, the companies said in an announcement.
Reinforcement learning refers to artificial intelligence that learns through trial and error; in the announcement the companies wrote, "Reinforcement-learning agents, AI systems that learn by trial and error, can convert computation into new knowledge."

Ineffable Intelligence is a London-based lab founded by AlphaGo architect David Silver. The collaboration pairs NVIDIA with the lab to concentrate engineering resources on systems and tooling that support reinforcement-learning agents, the announcement said.
The companies described the work as building the future of reinforcement-learning infrastructure, with an emphasis on engineering-level integrations and capabilities. Further technical details and timelines were not provided in the announcement.
