YouTube TV launches targeted subscription plans at lower prices
Google streaming service introduces category-specific options starting at $44.99 per month for new users
YouTube TV is launching targeted subscription plans this week, introducing category-specific options priced below its main $82.99 per month package.
The Google-owned live TV streaming service said the new plans will roll out over the next several weeks and are aimed at viewers who want content focused on specific categories rather than a full channel lineup.
The Sports Plan costs $64.99 per month, or $54.99 for new users in the first year, representing an $18 saving on the main plan.
It includes major broadcasters plus sports networks such as FS1, NBC Sports Network, all ESPN networks and ESPN Unlimited, which launches this autumn.
The Sports + News Plan is priced at $71.99 monthly, or $56.99 for new users for the first three months, adding national news channels including CNBC, Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, CSPAN, Bloomberg and Fox Business.
The Entertainment Plan costs $54.99 per month, or $44.99 for new users for three months, and features channels such as Comedy Central, Bravo, Paramount, Food Network and HGTV.
The News + Entertainment + Family Plan is $69.99 monthly, or $59.99 for new users for three months, bundling news and entertainment with family channels including Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, National Geographic, Cartoon Network and PBS Kids.
Add-ons such as NFL Sunday Ticket + RedZone, HBO Max and 4K Plus can be purchased alongside any plan, YouTube said.
