Yahoo Sports is going big for the World Cup, announcing a wave of new programming and on-the-ground coverage ahead of the tournament coming to North America this summer.
The centrepiece signing is Taylor Twellman, the former U.S. international and MLS MVP who spent more than a decade as ESPN's lead soccer analyst and currently calls matches for MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
Twellman will join Yahoo Sports as a tournament correspondent, appearing across Yahoo Sports Daily and The Cooligans.
It is a significant addition, with Twellman among the most recognisable voices in American soccer broadcasting and intimately familiar with the U.S. men's national team, he will be covering on home soil.
Yahoo is also expanding its partnership with OneFootball to distribute a new series called The Two Robbies and Friends, built around the popular podcast created by former professionals Robbie Earle and Robbie Mustoe.
Kyle Martino joins them as co-host for a daily show that will look beyond the matches, covering fan culture, host city experiences, food and fashion.
The series is being made in collaboration with PepsiCo and will air on OneFootball's global platform and partner network, including Yahoo Sports' own soccer hub, with a premiere date expected later this spring.
