Xiaomi, the Chinese consumer electronics company, has unveiled a broad range of new devices timed to coincide with Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, headlined by a flagship smartphone developed in partnership with Leica, the German camera manufacturer.
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra, priced at €1,499, carries a triple-camera system co-branded with Leica and featuring the company's lenses and filters, including a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 200-megapixel telephoto camera with a variable focal length equivalent to 75mm-100mm, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera.
The handset also features a 6.9-inch OLED display protected by Xiaomi's own Shield Glass 3.0 and a 6,000 mAh battery.
A special Leica edition, priced at €1,999, marks the camera company's centenary with a nickel-anodised aluminium body, a rotating ring designed to mimic the feel of a physical zoom, and a "Leica Essential mode" offering filters that replicate the visual characteristics of the vintage Leica M9 and M3 film cameras.
A standard Xiaomi 17 model is also available from €999.
Beyond smartphones, Xiaomi used the launch to expand into several product categories.
The Xiaomi Watch 5, priced at €299.99, features a round 1.54-inch AMOLED display, a 930 mAh battery rated for up to six days of use, and gesture controls for dismissing calls and alarms.
The company's new tracking tag, priced at €14.99 individually or €49.99 in a four-pack, weighs 10 grams and is compatible with both Apple's Find My network and Google's Android Find Hub, with a button-cell battery rated to last more than a year.
A slim power bank with a 5,000 mAh capacity supports 22.5W wired charging and 15W wireless charging, priced at €59.99 in black and silver or €64.99 in orange.
Rounding out the range, the Redmi Buds 8 Pro earbuds with active noise cancellation are priced at €69.99 and offer up to 33 hours of battery life, while the Electric Scooter 6 Ultra delivers 1,200W peak power and a claimed range of 75 kilometres.
All devices will be available in the EU and the UK.
