Xbox spotlights January Indie Selects
The gaming platform has assembled six indie titles for its January Indie Selects collection on the Indie Select Hub in the Xbox Store and at Xbox.com/IndieSelects.
Xbox curated a January Indie Selects collection to highlight indie releases that the company said often went unnoticed when launched in late November and early December, the company said in a statement.
Demonschool, from Ysbryd Games, is listed at $24.99 and the company said it features a two-phase turn-based system, a rewind function and interactive environments. The company noted small in-game details, including a non-player character who says they "marked their seat" during orientation.
Morsels, from Annapurna Interactive, is $14.99 and is described as a top-down roguelite creature collector with procedurally generated rooms and persistent progression, the company said. GIGASWORD, from Akupara Games, is $14.99 and the company said it combines action-puzzle and Metroidvania elements where a heavy sword is central to combat and environmental puzzles.
Goodnight Universe, from Skybound Games, is $19.99 and the company said it places players in the role of a psychically gifted infant; Suzerain Expanded Edition, from Torpor Games, is $31.99 and bundles the original political drama with the Suzerain: Kingdom of Rizia DLC. Rue Valley, from Owlcat Games, is $29.99 and the company said it is a narrative mystery adventure built around a repeating 47-minute time loop.
The company said the Indie Select Hub is refreshed weekly on Wednesdays and that an Indie Selects Anniversary celebration with giveaways and discounts is scheduled to begin on 28 January.
