Wolfspeed deploys AI across factory operations using Snowflake platform
The silicon carbide chipmaker says it is using predictive and generative AI agents to improve manufacturing performance and cut costs
Wolfspeed, the US silicon carbide semiconductor manufacturer, is expanding its use of Snowflake, the cloud data platform, to deploy artificial intelligence across its manufacturing, supply chain and enterprise operations.
The company said it has consolidated factory, supply chain and enterprise data onto a single platform and is applying AI to improve cost, quality, speed and workforce readiness.
Wolfspeed said it has rolled out predictive and generative AI agents powered by Snowflake's Intelligence and Cortex AI tools, including WolfGPT, an internal generative AI platform that helps teams analyse manufacturing performance, predict issues before they occur and accelerate staff training.
The company said dozens of specialised AI agents are now deployed across manufacturing, quality, supply chain, finance and corporate analytics functions to provide faster access to data and institutional knowledge.
"Manufacturing at this scale depends on making the right decisions faster, with confidence," said Priya Almelkar, senior vice president and chief information officer at Wolfspeed.
