WhatsApp adds member tags, text stickers and reminders
WhatsApp is adding member tags, text-to-sticker tools and custom event reminders for group chats.
WhatsApp is introducing three features to group chats: member tags, text stickers and event reminders.
The company said in a statement the updates are intended to make keeping up with conversations and expressing yourself in group chats easier.
Member tags let users set a customizable label per group, for example Anna’s Dad in one chat and Goalkeeper in another. Users can turn any word into a sticker by typing text into Sticker Search and add newly created stickers directly to their sticker packs instead of sending them in a chat first.
When creating an event in a group chat, creators can set custom reminders for invitees to prompt attendance, such as commuting to a party or joining a call. The company noted these features join others it has launched, including file sharing up to 2GB, HD media, screen sharing and voice chats.
