Waitrose engages SOLUM to deliver digital pricing in stores
Waitrose will be able to change prices quickly, without the need for staff to manually replace paper labels.
Waitrose is to deploy electronic shelf label sysems from SOLUM, a Samsung spin-out, across its entire store estate with the rollout planned through 2026.
It means product pricing will be controlled digitally, enabling faster price changes and reducing the amount of manual work done on the shop floor.
SOLUM said the project aims to cut the time spent on manual ticket updates and will free staff to focus on customer service.
Mark Duckworth, SOLUM manager for UK & Ireland, said: "our teams worked side by side to support their ambitions and ensure the solution delivered meaningful value in store.
"We’re proud to contribute to the high standards Waitrose sets and see this as an important step in enabling further innovation across the sector.”
