Vision board creation on Canva has risen 13% year over year in 2025, with the practice evolving from private collages into social, multimedia experiences, the design platform has reported.

The shift reflects a broader move toward visual communication, particularly among Gen Z users, according to a company statement.

The word "manifest," named Cambridge Dictionary's 2024 Word of the Year, has become ubiquitous across boards created on the platform.

Canva said creators are expanding boards into short-form video and narrative formats, moving beyond static image compilations.

Searches for DIY and scrapbook designs have jumped 90% year over year, generating more than one million impressions on the platform.

The company said vision boards are increasingly treated as living artefacts, revisited and updated as goals shift rather than serving as single moments of reflection.

Canva, the Australian design platform valued at $40 billion in its last funding round, also reported growing job-seeking activity among users.

More than 360 million resumes have been created on the platform since 2024, with job-focused activity increasing 21% year over year.

Resume creation consistently peaks between January and May, the company said, aligning with traditional hiring cycles and New Year career planning.

The convergence of vision boards and resume creation suggests users are approaching goal-setting and professional development as integrated visual projects.
