Udemy to insert its courses directly into ChatGPT
Udemy is using a ChatGPT app to embed its course catalogue and learning tools into the AI platform.
Udemy has embedded its course catalogue, assessments and hands-on labs into ChatGPT, enabling users to access structured learning journeys and competency validation inside the conversational interface.
The online learning company, in an announcement, said the integration brings over 290,000 courses from 90,000 expert instructors into an app in ChatGPT and delivers Udemy’s reskilling operating system covering skill discovery, acquisition, mastery, validation and acceleration.
The app provides expert-curated content, comprehensive assessments and practical labs rather than generic LLM tutoring, the company said.
“Udemy is pioneering the future of AI-powered learning by making skills development more personalized, interactive, and accessible than ever before,” Udemy CEO Hugo Sarrazin said.
The company highlighted that ChatGPT will proactively surface relevant Udemy courses in conversations, allow users to watch course videos in-chat, ask questions in real time while watching, follow direct enrollment pathways and browse course content without logging in. It added that the integration includes enhanced tracking, skill gap analysis and progress milestones for existing Udemy customers.
