TomTom plans to cut jobs, use more AI and focus on products
TomTom, the Dutch tech firm that popularised the 'sat-nav', is axing a portion of its human headcount, as it increases its use of AI.
A significant new restructuring announced on Monday aims to bring TomTom towards being a more product-led company.
Layoffs are mainly expected to land on those in TomTom's app units, along with sales and support functions.
A further announcement is expected in mid-July, when TomTom releases second-quarter financial results.
"We are becoming a truly product-led company, providing our customers with integration-friendly, easily customizable, modular products," TomTom CEO Harold Goddijn said.
