Tezos boasts growth across its NFT art ecosystem through 2025
The Tezos art ecosystem sold more than half a million NFTs in 2025 and expanded institutional and educational programs.
Tezos’ art ecosystem sold more than half a million non-fungible tokens across 2025, and it says it has increased institutional partnerships and artist activity in that time as well.
The Tezos Foundation, in an announcement, said it had expanded its work with the Museum of the Moving Image, turning the Herbert S. Schlosser Media Wall into a venue for blockchain-based art.
Since the first partnership exhibition in June 2024, MoMI has introduced over 243,000 visitors to digital art, and the museum’s free minting station led many visitors to create blockchain wallets.
The foundation added that a year-long programme is commissioning 12 artists, and, and it has also launched the FA2 Fellowship to teach artists and developers about Tezos FA2 smart contracts.
The ecosystem appeared at major art events in 2025, Tezos highlighted.
NFT Paris in February featured Kiki Picasso demonstrating an original 1980s Quantel Paintbox, the $250,000 machine used to create the MTV logo. The "Paintboxed – Tezos World Tour" brought the device to New York, Miami, Paris, and Basel during Art Basel. Art on Tezos Berlin, a three-day festival, attracted more than 700 international visitors and exhibited over 500 artists, with performances by asp1xelfool, OONA, and poet Franziska Ostermann.
Activations at Paris Photo and other festivals engaged tens of thousands of visitors and drew first-time minters. At Paris Photo, Artverse presented a booth featuring Niceaunties, Grant Yun, Reuben Wu, Shavonne Wong, Emi Kusano, and Genesis Kai, with works available for purchase via objkt one, Tezos added.
The digital art org reported several notable sales and acquisitions over the course of the year too - The Francisco Carolinum acquired TeleNFT works first presented at Art on Tezos Berlin. Artist qubibi’s live-coded generative work hello world sold for 62,000 tez after its Galerie Met solo show. Mario Klingemann’s generative music video Triggernometry sold for 43,000 tez during the Digital Art Mile, curated by Anika Meier for objkt one.
The MoMI partnership is scheduled to continue through January 2027, Tezos noted, with additional phases bringing new artists and experimental projects.
