Tesla’s German sales whipped in June

Snapshot
- Tesla sold only 1,860 cars in Germany in June
- Year-to-date sales are down 58.2%
- Meanwhile, German EV registrations rose 8.6% overall
Tesla sales in Germany fell by 60% year-over-year in June, the country’s road traffic agency KBA reported.
The electric-vehicle pioneer delivered a total 1,860 units last month, even though the wider German EV market grew.
Share of the market has been in decline through 2025, with Tesla's first-half deliveries dropping to 8,890 cars. It has come amidst heightened competition among EV brands, particularly lower-priced Chinese brands, as well as backlash against Elon Musk political involvement in the United States.
Germany’s supportive infrastructure and government-backed incentives remain supportive of EVs, with overall numbers of registrations rising as consumers shift to battery-powered models and automakers expand their range of vehicles.
