Ted Lasso to return for fourth season on Apple TV with new creative team
Apple’s Emmy-winning comedy series will follow a women’s football club in England’s second division
Ted Lasso will return to Apple TV this summer for a fourth season, with the story shifting to a women’s football team in England’s second division, the company said.
Jason Sudeikis will reprise his role as Ted and continue to serve as executive producer alongside Brendan Hunt, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee and Bill Wrubel.
Jack Burditt, an Emmy Award-winning producer, will join the series under a new overall deal with Apple TV, the streaming service said.
Brett Goldstein will return as writer and executive producer with Leann Bowen. Sarah Walker and Phoebe Walsh will serve as writers and producers. Sasha Garron will co-produce, Julia Lindon will write, and Dylan Marron will be story editor.
Bill Lawrence, co-creator of the series, will executive produce through Doozer Productions in association with Warner Bros Television Studios and Universal Television, a division of NBCUniversal. Doozer’s Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer will also serve as executive producers.
Apple said Ted Lasso became the most Emmy-nominated comedy in its debut season and won Outstanding Comedy Series for its first two. The series was developed by Sudeikis, Lawrence, Kelly and Hunt and is based on characters from NBC Sports.

Apple Original films, documentaries and series have received 689 wins and 3,249 nominations to date, the company said.
Apple TV is available for $12.99 per month with a seven-day free trial. New customers who activate an eligible Apple device can receive three months free, the company added.
