Taisei Corporation is rolling out ChatGPT Enterprise across the company as part of a human resources-led initiative to expand employee skills and reshape daily workflows.

In a statement, the Japanese contracting giant said the deployment is positioned not as a productivity upgrade but as a pillar of talent development. Taisei reported that 90% of employees use the tool weekly, saving more than 5.5 hours per person each week.

Staff have created 3,300 custom GPTs and launched 3,800 projects, with 99% of users expressing a desire to continue using the platform.

The company adopted a “Middle Out” approach, combining leadership support with grassroots momentum. This included training programmes, internal events, user communities and hackathons to encourage uptake.

Governance measures such as access controls, usage logs and education were introduced alongside active usage, allowing AI to be integrated into daily work while maintaining oversight.

“Introducing AI is not about promising a more convenient future, but about creating an environment where people can think with confidence and continue to engage with AI over time,” said Kenta Nukazawa, Assistant Manager of HR Development at Taisei.

The company said employees are using the platform to challenge assumptions, transform how they approach tasks and drive measurable gains in efficiency.

The Recap

  • Taisei rolls out ChatGPT Enterprise for company-wide talent development.
  • 90% weekly active usage reported across the organization.
  • Taisei reports more than 5.5 hours saved per employee weekly.
