Squawka names best-value Premier League signings
Its Value Index ranks 2025 summer signings by early-season output versus fees.
Squawka published a data-driven Value Index ranking best-value signings from the 2025 summer transfer window by comparing early-season on-pitch output with transfer fees.
Squawka said in a statement the index measures early-season contribution, including goals, assists and minutes played, against players' reported transfer fees and covers those signed in the 2025 summer window who have featured in the 2025/26 Premier League season to date.
The index lists Manchester City's Rayan Cherki as best value, recording five assists and one goal in 399 minutes, and names Liverpool's Florian Wirtz the lowest value with no goals or assists despite a €125 million transfer fee. Sunderland's Robin Roefs received an honourable mention after joining for €10.5 million. “Fans obsess over transfer fees, but value is about what you deliver on the pitch,” said Tom Dutton, Head of Content at Squawka.
The company said figures reflect matches played as of publication date, use publicly reported transfer fees for consistency and apply a minimum minutes threshold to reduce noise from very small samples.
Squawka said the full Value Index and player-by-player notes are available under the heading "Squawka Value Index 2025/26 — Best-value Premier League signings so far."
