SHEIN has strengthened environmental, occupational health and safety, and resource-efficiency systems across the facilities it directly manages in China, in a move the company says supports its long-term sustainability strategy.

The fast fashion group said six of its logistics parks in China obtained ISO 14001 certification for Environmental Management Systems and ISO 45001 for Occupational Health and Safety in 2025, following audits by certification body SGS.

The measures are part of evoluSHEIN, the company’s sustainability roadmap, and build on earlier investments in warehouse modernisation, fulfilment process optimisation and its Centre of Innovation for Garment Manufacturing (CIGM).

Eight additional SHEIN-managed facilities received Zero Waste to Landfill certification from TÜV Rheinland in 2025, bringing the total number of certified sites to 15, including the CIGM. Seven previously certified sites renewed their certification.

The company said all self-operated warehouses in China and nearly half of SHEIN-managed facilities in the country now meet the Zero Waste to Landfill standard.

To reduce waste, SHEIN said it has implemented operational changes across its fulfilment network, including the use of reusable burlap bags instead of paper cartons, narrower adhesive tape, thinner cartons, reusable straps, fewer packaging bags per order and re-used plastic pallets.

These changes have avoided or reduced approximately 932 metric tonnes of waste material, according to the company.

SHEIN said it published a Water Stewardship Policy in 2024 and has expanded its use of the WASH4WORK framework to formalise assessment of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) conditions.

In 2025, structured WASH assessments were completed at 28 self-operated warehouses and at the CIGM, raising global coverage from 22 to 29 sites.

The assessments confirmed compliance with WASH4WORK self-assessment standards, evaluating access to clean drinking water, sanitation, handwashing infrastructure and hygiene supplies.

The Recap

  • SHEIN strengthened management across directly managed facilities in China.
  • Six logistics parks gained ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification.
  • WASH assessments completed in 2025 at 28 warehouses and the CIGM.
