Samsung unveils AI-powered Freestyle+ projector ahead of CES
The Korean electronics giant has revealed The Freestyle+, an upgraded portable projector featuring enhanced AI screen optimisation and a significant boost in brightness.
The announcement comes ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, which begins on January 6. The new model builds on the cylindrical design of the original Freestyle but introduces a suite of intelligent features under the "AI OptiScreen" banner.
These tools are designed to automate the setup process, allowing users to project onto varied surfaces with minimal manual adjustment. Key features include 3D Auto Keystone for uneven surfaces, real-time focus correction, and Wall Calibration, which adjusts the picture based on the colour or pattern of the wall.
Samsung confirmed that The Freestyle+ delivers 430 ISO Lumens, representing nearly double the brightness of the previous generation.
Hun Lee, executive vice president of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said: “The Freestyle+ reflects Samsung’s vision to create displays that adapt naturally to how people live and move between spaces.”
The projector retains its 180-degree rotating design, enabling projection onto floors, walls, or ceilings. It also features built-in access to Samsung TV Plus and the Samsung Gaming Hub, allowing for streaming and cloud gaming without external hardware.
