Samsung to integrate Google Photos into AI TV lineup, with Memories launching in March
Partnership will surface curated photo stories on the big screen via Daily+ and Daily Board, with AI-powered creation tools planned for later in the year
Samsung plans to integrate Google Photos into its artificial intelligence (AI) television line-up, allowing users to view phone photos on a larger screen, starting with a Memories feature from March.
The company said the integration will present curated memories on TVs, organised by people, places and meaningful moments. Photos will surface through Samsung’s Daily+ and Daily Board experiences, and users will need to sign in with a Google Account to access the feature.
Samsung added that the experience may vary by model and region, and noted that Memories must not be turned off in Google Photos settings.
Memories is planned to launch exclusively on Samsung TVs and will show curated stories based on people, locations and meaningful moments.
“Samsung TVs have always brought people together, and bringing Google Photos to the big screen makes that experience even more personal,” said Kevin Lee, executive vice president of the Customer Experience Team at the Visual Display (VD) business of Samsung Electronics.
Samsung said a Create with AI feature will follow later, using themed templates built on Nano Banana, Google DeepMind’s image generation and editing model. It will include Remix and Photo to Video tools, the company said.
The company added that the integration will expand how photos work with its Vision AI Companion and is designed to create what it called a cinematic gallery experience for browsing personal libraries on the TV.
“Google Photos is a home for people’s photos and videos, helping them organize and bring their memories to life,” said Shimrit Ben-Yair, vice president, Google Photos and Google One.
Samsung said Memories will be available beginning March, while Create and Personalised Results are scheduled to roll out in the second half of the year.
