Salesforce lands $5.6bn US Army contract to enable AI agents
Salesforce will provide cloud and data services to support the Department of War.
Salesforce announced it has landed a $5.6 billion, 10-year 'indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity' contract by the US Army to support the Department of War (DOW).
The agreement, secured via its dedicated national security-orientated subsidiary Computable Insights, will see the Army and the DOW use Salesforce’s data fabric and compliant cloud technologies as a foundation for agentic AI operations, Salesforce revealed.
It is expected to enable an AI-powered acceleration of decision-making, and optimize operations supporting warfighters, civilian personnel, industrial base partners, and dependents.
Salesforce, meanwhile, highlighted its recent work with Army Human Resource Command, including a call centre modernisation completed four months ahead of schedule and over a million dollars under budget, and a planned deployment of an AI-powered CRM for 3,000 Army HRC employees and soldiers and self-service tools for 9.2 million soldiers, veterans, and their families.
Salesforce is said it is also working on the Army Accessions Information Environment to equip a 28,000-person recruiting enterprise with integrated Salesforce CRM, Slack, and MuleSoft capabilities.
"From recruiting to the tactical edge, Salesforce is equipping our forces with technology built for today’s dynamic environments—streamlining operations, increasing readiness, and enabling those who serve to stay focused on the mission,” said Kendall Collins, CEO of Missionforce and Government Cloud.
