Reddit names Stephen Riad as advertising sales chief as growth push continues
Former Google sales executive is promoted to executive vice-president role after helping scale Reddit’s global ad business
Reddit has appointed Stephen Riad as executive vice-president for advertising sales, elevating a senior internal leader as the company looks to build on recent momentum in its ads business.
Riad joined Reddit in 2022 and most recently served as vice-president of global mid-market, small and medium-sized business sales and channel partnerships. During that time, he helped build and scale high-performing sales teams, the company said.
“Stephen is a proven operator and strategic leader who has architected many parts of our sales growth engine,” said Jen Wong, chief operating officer at Reddit. “Reddit ads have become a must-buy for businesses and brands around the world. As we look to unlock our next phase of growth, Stephen is the right leader for our company, our sales team, and this moment.”
Riad said the company’s culture and talent have been central to its recent performance. “Reddit has talented people who have helped make it an unmatched place for brands to connect with consumers,” he said. “Together, our team has delivered record-breaking results over the past few years, and together we will continue to build on that growth in the months and years ahead.”
Before joining Reddit, Riad held senior roles at Google, where he led global strategy, sales, operations and business growth teams, according to the company.
