Ramen VR launches Aura AI assistant to slash game development times

The tool, which officially launched on January 2, arrives following a successful pilot phase where it was used to significantly accelerate the production of new titles. A case study released alongside the launch showed that Sinn Studio utilised the AI to halve its production time, shipping its game Zombonks in early access in just five months.

Aura functions as an integrated agent within the Unreal Engine editor, allowing developers to manage technical workflows through natural conversation. The system is split into two primary components: an "Editor-Use Agent" and a "Coding Agent".

The Editor-Use Agent is capable of lighting entire 3D scenes, configuring post-processing pipelines, and performing mass edits on thousands of "Blueprints"—the visual scripting objects used in Unreal Engine. Meanwhile, the Coding Agent can create, edit, and repair C++ and Blueprint files with a deep understanding of a project's specific architecture.

Andy Tsen, chief executive of Ramen VR, compared the tool’s potential impact to that of popular AI coding assistants used in general software engineering. He said: "Aura will do for game development what Claude Code and Cursor did for software engineering. Sinn Studio just proved what is possible: half the development time, five times the content output."

Alek Sinn, chief executive of Sinn Studio, noted that the AI was particularly effective in "asset sourcing," the process of finding and placing 3D objects within a game world. He stated that the technology reduced the time required to build environments from several days to just a few hours.
