ProducerAI is joining Google Labs to assist creatives in composing and producing music, with the collaborative music tool - used for writing lyrics, refining melodies and creating full songs - being powered by a preview version of a 'high fidelity' new AI model from DeepMind.

The product, developed with input from musicians including Grammy-winning rapper Lecrae and EDM hitmakers The Chainsmokers, uses Google DeepMind artificial intelligence models, including Gemini, Lyria 3, Veo and Nano Banana.

ProducerAI embeds all outputs with SynthID, an imperceptible watermark for identifying Google AI-generated content.

In a new blog post, Google details collaborative work with YouTube and the Music AI Sandbox, a suite of experimental tools for professionals in the development of the music AI tools.

Google cited musician partnerships in model development, and also noted that Grammy-winning artist Wyclef Jean had used "Lyria", DeepMind's high-fidelity, professional-grade music generation model which ProducerAI runs on.

Lyria 3 understands rhythm, arrangement and offers granular controls such as tempo and time-aligned lyrics, according to Google.

The tech giant also highlighted features called Spaces, which let artists use natural language to create new instruments and effects, and to move from a "simple keyboard" to complex modular patching environments.

ProducerAI is available in 250+ countries with free and paid plans, Google highlighted, whilst saying it will continue to building features to expand artists’ creative control.
