Cross will return to Prime Video in February, with a new trailer confirming an eight-episode second season set to premiere on 11 February.

Prime Video said the series will debut exclusively on the platform in more than 240 countries and territories. The first three episodes will be released at launch, with subsequent episodes dropping weekly until the season finale on 18 March.

Based on the James Patterson character, the series follows Alex Cross, a Washington, D.C., homicide detective and forensic psychologist who is drawn into the pursuit of a vigilante killer targeting corrupt billionaire magnates. Season two expands the ensemble cast, adding Matthew Lillard, Jeanine Mason and Wes Chatham alongside returning cast members Isaiah Mustafa, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Juanita Jennings, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd and Johnny Ray Gill.

Aldis Hodge reprises the lead role of Alex Cross and also serves as an executive producer on the series. “The script was just written so brilliantly that I just fell in love with it,” Hodge said, reflecting on the project.

Ben Watkins, the series creator and executive producer, said adapting the character for television was immediately appealing. “When this got put in front of me as a potential project to adapt to a television series, I got excited,” he said.

Cross is executive produced by Watkins alongside Sam Ernst, Jim Dunn, J. David Shanks, Aiyana White, Craig Siebels, Owen Shiflett, James Patterson, Bill Robinson and Patrick Santa. The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios in partnership with Paramount Television Studios.

The first season of Cross is currently available to stream on Prime Video. The service is included with an Amazon Prime membership, which in the United States is priced at $14.99 per month or $139 per year, with discounted plans and trial options available for eligible customers.
