Oracle rolls out AI note-taking tool for NHS clinicians
Clinical AI Agent launches across UK after pilot schemes at three hospital trusts
Oracle Health has made its artificial intelligence documentation tool available to clinicians across the UK after pilot deployments at several NHS trusts.
The Clinical AI Agent, known as Clinical Note, uses ambient voice and screen-driven technology to draft structured patient notes during consultations.
Pilots at Barts Health NHS Trust, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Milton Keynes University Hospital are now moving to broader deployment across their organisations.
Oracle, the US enterprise software group, said the tool is already used in more than 300 organisations globally and has helped save doctors more than 200,000 hours by reducing average documentation time per patient by approximately 40%.
"It's improved the accuracy of my notes and given me a lot of time back," said Robin Kearney, consultant in acute medicine at Milton Keynes University Hospital.

Sarah Jensen, group chief informatics officer at Barts Health NHS Trust, said clinicians using the tool "have been able to document the patient visit and sign the clinic note in real-time".
The UK launch builds on Oracle's commitment to invest $5 billion over five years to expand Oracle Cloud Infrastructure in the country, and follows a US launch last year.
