OpenAI has now released GPT‑5.2, its most capable model series to date for professional knowledge work and long-running agents.
The company said GPT‑5.2 sets a new state of the art across multiple benchmarks, including GDPval, where it outperforms industry professionals on well-specified knowledge work tasks spanning 44 occupations.
OpenAI said the model improves spreadsheets, presentations, coding, vision, long-context understanding, and tool calling.
GPT‑5.2 Instant, Thinking, and Pro begin rolling out today to paid plans, and the API versions are available now to all developers, the company said.
The company said GPT‑5.2 Thinking achieves near‑100% accuracy on the 4-needle MRCR variant out to 256k tokens and that GPT‑5.2 Thinking, GPT‑5.2 Instant, and GPT‑5.2 Pro are available in the Responses and Chat Completions APIs as gpt-5.2, gpt-5.2-chat-latest, and gpt-5.2-pro.
GPT‑5.2 is priced at $1.75 per one million input tokens and $14 per one million output tokens, with a 90% discount on cached inputs, the AI company noted.
The company said GPT‑5.1 will remain available to paid ChatGPT users as a legacy model for three months before it is sunset.
