OpenAI has agreed a collaboration with Deutsche Telekom to bring advanced AI capabilities to millions of smartphones across Europe.

Deutsche Telekom, parent of the T-Mobile brand, serves more than 261 million mobile customers worldwide, and with this global reach, it will combine with OpenAI frontier research to expand AI access.

The partners, in Tuesday's statement, said they will create "simple, multilingual, and privacy-first AI experiences that help people communicate, learn, and get things done." New customer features are expected to start rolling out in 2026.

Deutsche Telekom will introduce ChatGPT Enterprise across the company to give employees secure access to OpenAI tools, and it is also expected to use AI more deeply in network operations and employee copilots as it moves toward more autonomous systems.

The collaboration, the company said, aims to make AI more helpful, secure, and accessible across Europe.

The recap

  • OpenAI and Deutsche Telekom will deploy AI across Europe.
