Onchain Wallet adds Ledger hardware wallet support via Bluetooth
Integration delivers full EVM support for self-custody transactions across multiple networks
Onchain Wallet now supports Ledger hardware wallets, allowing users to connect devices via Bluetooth to perform self-custody transactions within the app.
The cryptocurrency wallet provider said the update completes its Ledger integration and delivers full support for Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) networks, enabling users to send, receive, swap and bridge digital assets.
The app supports Ledger Nano Gen5, Ledger Flex, Ledger Stax (Bluetooth only) and Ledger Nano X devices.
Users can import multiple EVM accounts across Ethereum, Cronos, Arbitrum, Polygon and other EVM-compatible networks through the integration.
Transaction signing occurs on the Ledger device so private keys never leave the hardware wallet, Onchain said.
All device communication is handled locally via Bluetooth, maintaining the security model of hardware wallet storage.
The release includes support matrix validation, updated interface handling for unsupported states, finalized analytics and live onboarding flows, the company added.
The update does not support older Ledger Nano S devices or USB-based connections.
Non-EVM blockchains, including Bitcoin, Solana, XRP and Cosmos are not supported in this release, nor are passphrase accounts and multisig wallets.
Buy, Earn, NFT access, decentralised app (dApp) connections, referrals and perpetuals trading are not available for Ledger-backed wallets in this version, Onchain said.
Users attempting unsupported actions will see filtered states or clear error messages, the company added.
To set up Ledger integration, users open the Onchain Wallet app, tap the profile icon, select Add Wallet and choose Import Existing Wallet, followed by Connect Ledger Wallet.
