Oceanhorn 3: Legend of the Shadow Sea, the latest instalment in the action-RPG-adventure franchise, will launch exclusively on Apple Arcade on 5 March.

The game is developed by Cornfox & Brothers, an independent studio based in Helsinki, and is set nearly a thousand years after its predecessor, Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm.

The company described a 3D experience with console-quality visuals, blending exploration, combat and puzzle-solving with new traversal and combat mechanics, large boss fights and the series' first use of a first-person mode.

Oceanhorn 3 will be playable across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple TV and Apple Vision Pro.

"The upcoming release represents the culmination of five years of passionate work, bringing a brand-new adventure to life for players of all ages," said Heikki Repo, creator of the Oceanhorn series and creative director at Cornfox & Brothers.

Three additional titles will also join Apple Arcade on the same date: Pocket Love!+, a life simulator; Flow Free+, a pipe-matching puzzle game; and Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story+, a sweetshop simulation.

All games on Apple Arcade are free of advertisements and in-app purchases.

Apple Arcade costs $6.99 per month in the US with a one-month free trial, and provides a family of up to six with unlimited access to more than 200 games.

Customers who purchase a new Apple device receive three months free.
