NVIDIA is making one of its most powerful Blackwell GPUs 'generally available'
NVIDIA’s RTX PRO 5000 72GB Blackwell GPU is now generally available for developers, engineers and designers, expanding desktop memory options for AI workloads.
According to the company, the card is built on the Blackwell architecture, delivers 2,142 TOPS of AI performance and includes 72GB of ultrafast GDDR7 memory, a 50% increase over the 48GB RTX PRO 5000 model.
The company said the configuration is aimed at AI developers, data scientists and creative professionals running memory‑heavy workflows such as large language models, multimodal pipelines and agentic systems, and that the larger memory allows teams to serve models from workstations to preserve data privacy, lower latency and reduce costs. NVIDIA said industry‑standard benchmarks show the RTX PRO 5000 72GB provides 3.5x image‑generation performance and 2x text‑generation performance versus prior‑generation NVIDIA hardware, cuts render times by up to 4.7x in engines including Arnold, Chaos V‑Ray and Blender, and delivers more than 2x graphics performance for CAD workflows.
Early adopters include InfinitForm and Versatile Media. “InfinitForm is thrilled to evaluate its CUDA‑accelerated generative AI design optimization software on NVIDIA RTX PRO 5000 72GB to help customers like Yamaha Motor and NASA accelerate innovation and optimize products for performance and manufacturability,” said Michael Bogomolny, founder and CEO of InfinitForm. “For film‑grade virtual production, memory capacity directly translates into creative freedom,” said Eddy Shen, general manager of the production center at Versatile Media.
The GPU is available from partners including Ingram Micro, Leadtek, Unisplendour and xFusion, the company said, and broader availability through global system builders will start early next year.
