Netflix’s Christmas Day broadcast of the Detroit Lions’ clash with the Minnesota Vikings averaged 27.5 million viewers in the US, making it the most-streamed NFL game in American history.

Data from Nielsen Big Data + Panel confirmed the record-breaking figure, which peaked at more than 30 million viewers during a halftime performance by Snoop Dogg.

The streaming giant also confirmed it has now distributed the top three most-streamed NFL games in US history, with the afternoon game between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders drawing an average of 19.9 million US viewers.

The "Snoop’s Holiday Halftime Party" segment averaged 29 million viewers in the US, while the event as a whole generated significant global engagement.

The Lions-Vikings match recorded a global average minute audience (AMA) of 30.5 million, while the Cowboys-Commanders game drew 22.4 million globally.

Figures provided by Netflix showed that the Christmas Gameday event generated more than 632 million global social media impressions. Snoop Dogg’s halftime show alone accounted for over 100 million impressions.

US viewership figures include out-of-home viewing, CBS local market broadcasts, NFL+, and mobile and web viewing via the Netflix platform. International data was compiled using Netflix first-party data and figures from the NFL’s international distributors.
