MITO AI raises $4.5m to build browser-based creative platform
Lightspeed Venture Partners leads preseed round for AI-powered video storytelling workspace
MITO AI has raised $4.5 million in a preseed funding round led by Paul Murphy at Lightspeed Venture Partners.
The round also included backing from Kibo, Kfund, Sequoia and A16Z scouts, LifeX, and a group of angel investors, among them five unicorn founders and executives from USV, Roblox and Github.
MITO provides a browser-based, multiplayer workspace designed for creative teams. The platform combines foundational AI models for video, image and audio with professional-grade editing tools on a single infinite canvas.
Aimed at filmmakers, designers and storytellers, MITO supports ideation, moodboarding, storyboarding, scripting, camera planning, visual effects and multi-format outputs. It includes an AI copilot that users can direct during the creative process.
The company also operates an audiovisual studio powered by AI and collaborates with television and film production companies. A curated marketplace for generative creators is also available through the platform.

“Our mission is to unleash human creativity,” said Danny Saltaren, MITO cofounder and chief product officer.
A National Design Award recipient and former head of product design at two unicorns, Saltaren said the funding will help accelerate MITO’s vision of making professional storytelling tools accessible to every creator.
