Microsoft has announced that ASUS and Dell will each release a dedicated Cloud PC device in the third quarter of 2026, extending a hardware category the company launched in 2024 with its own Windows 365 Link device.
Cloud PC devices are purpose-built thin clients, stripped-down computers that connect users directly to Windows 365 cloud environments rather than running applications or storing data locally, with no local apps, local data or local administrator accounts permitted.
Both new devices will be available across Europe, the United States and 58 countries in total.
The ASUS NUC 16 for Windows 365 is a compact mini-PC with a 0.7-litre chassis designed to be mounted behind monitors for hot-desking and space-constrained office environments.
It supports up to three simultaneous displays via HDMI and USB Type-C connections.
The Dell Pro Desktop for Windows 365 is a fanless compact desktop built for quiet operation, also supporting up to three displays with flexible mounting options and broad connectivity, though Dell has not yet disclosed full technical specifications.
Both devices boot directly into Windows 365, are managed through Microsoft Intune, Microsoft's cloud-based device management platform, and come preinstalled with Windows CPC, the operating system variant used across the Cloud PC device category.
Windows CPC receives automatic updates, and Microsoft said second-quarter 2026 updates will add Bluetooth pairing support during initial device setup and tenant branding for the sign-in screen, allowing organisations to display their own visual identity at login.

Microsoft's original Cloud PC device, Windows 365 Link, is currently available in 20 countries through Microsoft and authorised resellers, with further expansion ongoing.
The company positioned the expanded portfolio as a way for IT teams to reduce endpoint complexity, since Cloud PC devices require minimal configuration and eliminate the need to manage locally installed software or user data.
The recap
