Microsoft confirms GPT-5.2 is available in Copilot
Satya Nadella said GPT‑5.2 variants are now available in M365 Copilot and GitHub Copilot.
Microsoft was quick to confirm it is integrating OpenAI's newest and most poweful AI model, GPT‑5.2, into its Copilot offerings and developer tools.
Satya Nadella explained in a LinkedIn post that GPT‑5.2 combines two variants: GPT‑5.2 Thinking for harder problems, long‑context reasoning, coding, spreadsheets and presentations, and GPT‑5.2 Instant for everyday writing, translation and skill‑building.
The Microsoft boss said GPT‑5.2 with Work IQ is intended to surface insights, market research and strategic planning by reasoning across meetings, emails and documents.
Starting today, Co-pilot users can select GPT‑5.2 in the model picker in M365 Copilot, and the model is also available in GitHub Copilot, it added.
“Super excited about GPT‑5.2 from our partners at OpenAI,” Satya Nadella said.
The post said Microsoft is also bringing GPT‑5.2 models to Microsoft Foundry and Copilot Studio and is starting a rollout in the Copilot consumer experience.
He also wrote that model choice is a priority and that with auto selection Copilot will pick the right model for the task. “I’m looking forward to what customers are able to achieve with this new capability,” he wrote.
