Mercor, a marketplace that matches professionals with artificial intelligence companies, has selected Stripe Connect to manage its global payments infrastructure.
The platform connects more than 30,000 professionals each week with AI developers and enterprises seeking help to train and evaluate models, and needed a payments partner capable of handling the complexity of cross-border transactions at scale.
Stripe Connect, the payments company's platform for managing marketplace payouts, will handle onboarding, verification and international payments on Mercor's behalf, allowing the company to focus on expanding its talent network rather than building bespoke compliance systems for individual countries.
Mercor is also using Stripe's Instant Payouts feature, which delivers earnings to a professional's bank account within seconds of completing work, including on weekends and public holidays.
Adarsh Hiremath, co-founder and co-chief executive of Mercor, said reliable and fast payouts were critical to the platform's proposition for the professionals who use it.
He said the company chose Stripe because it could scale alongside Mercor's growth and absorb the complexity of cross-border payments without requiring custom infrastructure in each market.
Stripe framed the partnership as part of its broader ambition to build what it described as "the economic infrastructure for AI," positioning its payments tools as a scaling partner for companies commercialising AI products.
