Mercedes-Benz has revealed a new S-Class developed with NVIDIA’s autonomous driving technologies, featuring a Level 4-ready vehicle architecture built on the NVIDIA DRIVE AV platform and DRIVE Hyperion reference system.

NVIDIA said the luxury sedan will run on MB.OS and incorporate the full DRIVE Hyperion hardware suite alongside its end-to-end DRIVE AV software stack. The vehicle is designed to support future applications in robotaxi operations and high-end autonomous chauffeur services.

“Mercedes-Benz has set the standard in the automotive market, building cars defined by exquisite craftsmanship and safety engineering,” said Jensen Huang, founder and chief executive of NVIDIA.

The company said DRIVE AV is trained at scale using NVIDIA DGX systems and validated through high-fidelity simulations powered by NVIDIA Omniverse NuRec libraries and NVIDIA Cosmos world models.

DRIVE Hyperion, according to NVIDIA, enables sensor and compute redundancy through a combination of multimodal inputs, including cameras, radar and lidar, and a diverse software stack. This includes an artificial intelligence-based decision system paired with a parallel classical safety stack, governed by the NVIDIA Halos safety framework.

NVIDIA added that it will deliver premium autonomous rides using the new S-Class through its partnership with Uber's global mobility platform.
