McAfee teams up with Pat McAfee to promote expanded online protection
Cybersecurity company McAfee has launched a new partnership with sports media personality Pat McAfee aimed at introducing its broader digital protection tools to sports and entertainment fans.
McAfee said the campaign with Pat McAfee is designed to raise awareness of online threats that go beyond traditional antivirus software and to explain how its expanded protection platform works in everyday situations.
The campaign opens with a video that plays on the frequent mispronunciation of Pat McAfee’s name, using humour to draw attention to the idea that many people misunderstand what McAfee now offers. The video introduces features such as a virtual private network, safe browsing tools and a scam detector, while highlighting common risks including scam texts, fake cryptocurrency offers, unsafe public Wi-Fi and AI-generated deepfakes.
Stephanie Fried, chief marketing officer at McAfee, said Pat McAfee’s audience is highly engaged and looks to him for clear and honest explanations, making him a natural fit to explain digital safety in a straightforward way.
A second video featuring McAfee is set to be released in the coming weeks as part of a phased rollout. The company said video content will continue through December and will be supported by paid media placements.
Pat McAfee said the partnership reflects his appreciation for products that make protecting his digital life simple and convenient.
