Mauricio Pochettino may be the one to choose his Chelsea future
Mauricio Pochettino's job as manager of Chelsea Football Club looks uncertain with decisions about his future looming at the season's close.
Despite recent improvements in form and public praise from co-owner Todd Boehly for playing "beautiful" football, Pochettino has admitted the uncertainty about his job security and the need for mutual contentment within the team management.
Pochettino's contract includes an option for extension beyond summer 2025, but clarity on his role remains elusive.
Pochettino in comments during a weekly press conference has indicated that his views may also factor in whether he stays or goes, and its not just a case of whether he'll be sacked by the club.
“Maybe the owners want to keep us in our place and maybe we decide no. Always it’s two parts. But always [you] assume that it’s one part that takes the decision," he told the press.
Performances have picked up recently, as Chelsea challenges for the remaining European qualification spots. Yet Pochettino's future is a feature of daily speculation and rumor.
