Manchester United and Chelsea to compete for £60mln Michael OIise
Manchester United and Chelsea are in competition to sign Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, that’s according to speculative media reports this weekend.
Olise, who is also said to be a target for Arsenal, would cost up to £60 million – which is reportedly his contracted release clause.
Reports claim the Manchester club leads the race, as United seek a replacement for wide-players like Antony and Mason Greenwood, who the club are claimed to be selling this summer.
Olise only wants to join either United or Chelsea, these reports claim.
Managerless Chelsea are undeterred, the reports say, and they are expected to pursue Olise “aggressively”, with transfer policy steered by the club’s co-owner Todd Boehly.
Chelsea meanwhile work on plans to replace manager Mauricio Pochettino, who was released from the club earlier this week.
Crystal Palace is said to have indicated it will only entertain offers that meet Olise's release clause.
It could be the first of several transfer ‘sagas’ for both clubs which, after a number of disappointing seasons, remain in transition.
