Malcolm in the Middle revival set for April launch on Hulu and Disney+
The cult sitcom returns with a four-episode limited series, reuniting much of the original cast and placing Malcolm back at the centre of family chaos
Malcolm in the Middle is set to return this spring, with Hulu confirming that the four-episode revival Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair will premiere on April 10.
The limited series will launch on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the US, while international viewers will be able to watch on Disney+.
According to the release, a teaser featuring first footage has already been issued. The new episodes follow Malcolm as he is reluctantly pulled back into his family’s orbit after Hal and Lois insist he attends their 40th wedding anniversary party.
The revival reunites much of the original cast, including Bryan Cranston as Hal, Frankie Muniz as Malcolm, Jane Kaczmarek as Lois, Christopher Kennedy Masterson as Francis, Justin Berfield as Reese and Emy Coligado as Piama. New additions include Keeley Karsten as Leah, Malcolm’s daughter, Vaughan Murrae as Kelly, Malcolm’s youngest sibling, Kiana Madeira as Tristan, Malcolm’s girlfriend, and Caleb Ellsworth-Clark as Dewey.

From Disney Branded Television, the series is produced by 20th Television, part of Disney Television Studios, alongside New Regency. Creator Linwood Boomer returns as writer and executive producer. Executive producers also include Cranston, Tracy Katsky, Gail Berman and New Regency’s Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan and Natalie Lehmann. Ken Kwapis will direct all four episodes and serve as executive producer, with Jimmy Simons and Laura Delahaye as co-executive producers.
All 151 episodes of Malcolm in the Middle are currently available to stream on Hulu or via Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers.
