L’Oréal Groupe said it had introduced two new light-based beauty devices at CES 2026, marking further expansion of its technology-led product pipeline.

The company said both products were named CES 2026 Innovation Award honourees.

L’Oréal said its Light Straight + Multi-styler uses patented infrared light technology and glass plates that do not exceed 320°F, compared with conventional straighteners that can reach 400°F or more.

The company cited a 2024 US consumer study it conducted, which found 58% of women surveyed said heat was responsible for their hair damage.

Tests carried out by L’Oréal showed the device works three times faster and leaves hair two times smoother than leading premium hair stylers, the company said.

It added that near-infrared light reshapes internal hydrogen bonds to help preserve the hair cuticle. A patent has been granted in France, with a US patent pending.

The group also said it is developing an LED Face Mask in partnership with iSmart. The prototype is an ultra-thin, flexible silicone mask delivering 10-minute sessions of red light at 630 nanometres and near-infrared light at 830 nanometres.

L’Oréal said testing is expected to show the mask targets visible signs of ageing, including fine lines, sagging and uneven skin tone.

Light Straight + Multi-styler is set to launch globally in 2027, while the LED Face Mask is also expected to launch in 2027. L’Oréal said pricing details will be announced closer to launch, adding that the US launch of the LED Face Mask is subject to the Food and Drug Administration 510(k) premarket notification process.

The Recap

  • L’Oréal introduced two light-based beauty devices at CES 2026.
