Kyle Hanagami spotlights Final Cut Pro in Apple rollout of AI-powered editing tools
Choreographer known for BLACKPINK and Mean Girls uses Apple’s integrated workflow to streamline production
Apple has unveiled new intelligent features in Final Cut Pro and Apple Creator Studio, highlighting choreographer Kyle Hanagami’s use of its tools to edit and produce content across platforms.
Hanagami, who moved from iMovie to Final Cut Pro in 2009, said the software gave him the production skills and social media awareness that helped shape his career. “I’ve always been an early adopter of technology,” he said.
With over seven million followers on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, Hanagami’s choreography credits include eight years with BLACKPINK, the 2024 film Mean Girls, Jennifer Lopez’s Las Vegas residency in 2016, and Disney’s upcoming stage adaptation of Zootopia.
Apple said new artificial intelligence features such as Magnetic Mask and Smart Conform reduce manual editing in Final Cut Pro, while a new Beat Detection tool, powered by a model from Logic Pro and available today, displays a Beat Grid to help editors sync cuts precisely to music.

“I choreograph to music so intentionally, so being able to edit with that same intentionality is so important,” Hanagami said.
Apple added that Hanagami uses Live Multicam via Final Cut Camera and Final Cut Pro for iPad to capture choreography from multiple angles, filming on iPhone and editing across iPad and Mac in a unified workflow.
