Kraken sweepstake gives crypto traders chance to win over 100 'free' bitcoins

Kraken is running a holiday sweepstakes, giving its customers a chance to win Bitcoin prizes.

The sweepstakes, taking place between 4 Dec and 5 Jan, is open to eligible customers who opt in, and trade on the platform during the period, the crypro exchange said.

The promotion ties the number of sweepstakes entries to trading activity on Kraken’s mobile app - i.e. the platform rewards activity with extra entries into the draw. And, the grand prize will be 3 Bitcoin (BTC), plus Kraken said it will award more than 110 other Bitcoin awards through the promotion (see the full breakdown below).

Every eligible client who opts in and trades $1 (or equivalent in another currencies) earns one entry, and “every additional dollar traded earns an additional entry,” Kraken noted.

Buying, selling and converting cryptoassets all qualify, but trades between fiat and stablecoins, or between one stablecoin and another, do not.

The maximum number of entries per customer is capped at 1 million, Kraken added.

The prize pool includes 1 grand prize of 3 BTC, 10 prizes of $8,500 in BTC and 100 prizes of $850 in BTC.

The promotion is open to users in the US (excluding Florida, Maine and New York), Canada (excluding Quebec), the EEA and a number of other eligible countries.

Customers will find details via the 'Offers' screen in the Kraken mobile app, the trading platform explained.
