Kraken deploys AI tools across compliance and risk operations
The cryptocurrency exchange said custom-built agents are reducing manual work and supporting faster decision-making
Kraken, the cryptocurrency exchange, is integrating artificial intelligence into its compliance, legal and risk operations using custom-built tools and GPT-powered agents.
The company said the technology is being applied across its control environment to handle specific tasks, including providing instant guidance on know-your-customer (KYC) and onboarding requirements, supporting screening alert handling, and drafting product risk assessments from technical documentation.
AI systems also format customer due diligence files automatically, structure and validate suspicious activity reports, and scan for regulatory updates across jurisdictions.
Enhanced due diligence processes use AI to compile information and produce draft summaries, though human reviewers retain final decision-making authority.
Kraken said each tool is purpose-built, overseen by subject matter experts, constrained by internal policies and subject to audit trails and performance monitoring.
