Hyundai Motor Group outlines AI robotics strategy at CES
Hyundai Motor Group has unveiled an artificial intelligence robotics strategy at CES 2026, setting out plans to expand human-robot collaboration across manufacturing and wider industrial operations.
Hyundai Motor Group said its AI Robotics Strategy, presented under the theme Partnering Human Progress, is built around three core partnerships designed to accelerate the deployment of collaborative and humanoid robots.
The group said the first partnership pairs humans with co-working robots in manufacturing, with robots initially taking on hazardous, dangerous and repetitive tasks.
A second links Hyundai Motor Group’s value network with Boston Dynamics to create safe training environments and an end-to-end artificial intelligence robotics value chain.
The third brings the group together with global artificial intelligence leaders to speed the development and deployment of next-generation humanoid robots.
Hyundai said Boston Dynamics has now unveiled a product version of its Atlas robot, which is due to be deployed at Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America by 2028 for sequencing tasks. The group said Atlas is intended to reduce physical strain on workers by performing higher-risk activities, while supporting commercialisation and collaborative human-robot environments.
Affiliated companies including Hyundai Motor, Kia, Hyundai Mobis and Hyundai Glovis will collaborate to build the end-to-end AI robotics value chain, Hyundai said. This will be supported by data-driven production and validation systems such as the Robot Metaplant Application Center and the Software-Defined Factory platform.
