Hasbro signs licensing deal with Legendary for upcoming Street Fighter film
Action figures and collectibles to launch alongside 16 October theatrical release
Hasbro, the Rhode Island-based toy and entertainment group, has partnered with film producer Legendary Entertainment to develop a range of products tied to the forthcoming live-action Street Fighter film.
The company said the collaboration includes action figures, toys and collectables and marks a return to a franchise it previously supported with merchandise during the era of Street Fighter II: The World Warrior.
Tim Kilpin, president of toy, licensing and entertainment at Hasbro, said, “Returning to Street Fighter is more than a collaboration – it’s a homecoming rooted in one of the most influential video games of all time.”
Legendary said the partnership aims to bring the Street Fighter experience into the homes of fans using Hasbro’s product innovation and global reach.
Amber Sheppo, senior vice-president of consumer products and partnerships at Legendary, said, “We’re thrilled to partner with Hasbro to bring the iconic Street Fighter film and experience into the homes of devoted fans.”
The film, based on the video game franchise developed by Capcom, is due for theatrical release on 16 October.
