Google Search adds special animation to mark America’s 250th anniversary
Google said it is introducing a celebratory animation in Google Search for queries linked to the United States’ 250th anniversary in 2026.
The company said users will see a special visual effect when searching for terms associated with the anniversary, with examples including “United States Semiquincentennial” and “America’s 250th”. The animation will appear across both desktop and mobile versions of Google Search.

The United States will mark 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence on 4 July 2026, an event expected to be accompanied by nationwide commemorations, cultural programmes and educational initiatives.
