Google rolls out Nano Banana Pro image model across Gemini, Search and Workspace
New image generation and editing model launches globally across consumer apps and developer platforms, with higher usage limits for paid subscribers
Google has rolled out Nano Banana Pro, a new image generation and editing model, across a wide range of its consumer and developer products, deepening the integration of generative visuals into its core services.
In a statement, Google said Nano Banana Pro is now available globally in the Gemini app on desktop and mobile, where users can select the model directly from the image creation interface. Free-tier users are subject to usage limits, after which the app reverts to the original Nano Banana model, while subscribers to Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra receive higher quotas.
Signed-in users can also access Nano Banana Pro through AI Mode in Google Search by selecting the upgraded model and choosing the image creation option. Image generation in AI Mode is available in select countries and currently supports English, the company said.
Beyond Gemini and Search, Google said it is embedding the model across its productivity tools. NotebookLM users worldwide can use Nano Banana Pro to turn sources and ideas into slide decks and infographics, including visuals generated from Deep Research queries and style-customised slide updates.
For business users, Workspace customers can access the model in Google Slides via the Gemini sidebar to create or enhance slides and infographics. Nano Banana Pro is also used to generate visuals in Google Vids, the company’s video creation tool. In addition, the model is available in Flow for all paid plans and within Mixboard’s presentation features.
Google said developers can build with Nano Banana Pro through platforms including Vertex AI, AI Studio, Stitch, Ads and Firebase. It also pointed to Antigravity as an agentic development option for teams looking to integrate the model into more autonomous workflows.
The broad rollout reflects Google’s push to make image generation a standard feature across search, productivity and development environments, while differentiating access through subscription tiers.
